EV charger grants in Czechia 2026: what you can realistically get

How much it is

Under the Nová zelená úsporám programme, support for a charging point at a house is indicatively CZK 15,000 per charging point, at most two points per house, and at most 50 % of eligible costs.

Treat the figures as indicative. During 2026 the programme shifted from direct grants mainly to subsidised loans; direct grants remained largely for low-income households under NZÚ Light, which does not list charging stations among supported measures. Three conditions that trip people up

1. A wallbox on its own gets nothing

The single most important sentence here. A charging point can be supported only as part of another measure — most often a solar installation. If you want just a charger and nothing else, you do not qualify.

2. The charger must manage load dynamically

Dynamic load management is required — the charger watches the whole house and backs off. The cheapest models will not qualify. It is also the feature that often lets you avoid raising your main breaker.

3. The parking space must be yours

On the plot belonging to the house or inside it. A publicly accessible space or a rented bay in someone else's garage does not count.

Apartment buildings

Apartment buildings usually have separate calls with their own conditions, and you will almost always need the owners' assembly consent — see our article on HOA consent.

Businesses

Companies draw on different sources than households — calls for charging infrastructure come from the Modernisation Fund and operational programmes. They are more generous but administratively heavier.

How not to do it

Do not buy the charger before the grant is clear. Some calls only recognise costs incurred after the application is filed.

Do not trust a number from someone else's website. Conditions change between rounds and articles age faster than they are updated.

Budget for the no-grant case too. If it comes through, it is a bonus.
